MY... in Malta

Location: St James Cavalier Centre of Creativity, Valletta, Malta G.C.

During April and May 2007, artist Graham Woodall worked with a number of schools in Malta as part of the MY... project. Using his own installation entitled 'Besieged' as the subject matter, Graham invited the pupils to comment on their island using a large stock of donated cardboard.

What followed was a wide variety of interpretations about the new buildings, the natural textures of Malta and the cultural symbols. Creative writing groups were invited to write about the themes and whole school groups built large architectural structures. To view creative writing, click here.

Many of the Maltese schools participating in the programme wish to establish artistic and cultural links with schools in Oxfordshire. Graham will be continuing to work with schools and colleges in Malta and to make links between UK and Maltese schools.
